Affiliates Brace for Changes Ahead

In recent month there has been some drastic changes with in the structure of the online casino industry that has some members of the field a bit worried about the security and future of their livelihoods. The situation that is most relevant to this topic is the predicament that Empire Online Found themselves in after Party Gaming cut them out of their affiliate relationship.

The possibility of some other other large online casinos deciding to develop a single platform format that does away with the need of an affiliate, or white label skin site, directing traffic to the online casino itself is a rather disheartening one for those involved in the affiliate industry. The purpose of an affiliate was to act as a funnel of sort, pulling from a large pool of people and thereby funneling people to the online casino they are affiliated with.

The reason it seems this system is now in flux and being called into question is that in the past when the online casino industry was in its beginning stages and with a much lower profile, it was helpful to have multiple site out there actively seeking and attracting prospective players. But now, the industry is so widely known that the players are now more familiar with online casinos by name and can go directly there. Also, the online casinos have developed enough of a client base that there is not nearly as much need for them to be constantly searching for new players. This transition however will surely be a long and tedious one which will take place in the distant future.
